Romance in the kitchen

A treat for breakfast or dessert on Valentine's Day, these heart-shaped waffles are a simple, tasty way show someone how much you care.

High sugar content foods like waffles brown more easily than bread, however using the Wolf Gourmet toaster's frozen setting lengthens the toasting time to allow for defrosting. Used together with the toaster's keep warm feature, these waffles couldn't be easier to prepare.

Heart-shaped waffles with red berries

Frozen heart-shaped waffles

250g raspberries plus a few strawberries

1/4 cup butter

Icing sugar

Place a waffle in each slot of the toaster, select the frozen setting and set the dial to number 2. Meanwhile, melt the butter on the hob or in a microwave. Slice the strawberries, leaving the raspberries whole.

If the waffles pop-up while you are still preparing the fruit, press the keep warm setting so they remain at an ideal temperature without cooking further.

To serve, place two waffles on a plate, pour over melted butter to taste, scatter with fruit and a sifting of icing sugar.

Make it an evening to remember with a delicious pink cocktail using crushed ice from the Wolf Gourmet blender. Adjust add the ice to the blending jug and select the crushed ice mode for perfect results every time.
